Has it been a year already??

Has everyone just about given up on me ever updating the family blog again?  I totally would not doubt it if you had!  I apologize for not updating for so long.  With my photography business taking off there seems there is no time to update this blog and that one as well.  I don’t know how people write two blogs. 

Anyways, i am here to say that i will try harder to update this blog!  It is important to capture my kiddos memories!

Without further ado, I bring you Charlotte’s first birthday!!  (We are just going to start from here!)

We had a Cupcake themed birthday party at our house on the her actual birthday Sept. 25!  Here are the invitations!  I was so pleased with how they turned out!  Here is the front and the insides of the card.

Here are a few photos of the decorations!  There was lots of pink and green and cupcakes, of course!

We like to try to get a family photo before every birthday so this was this birthday’s attempt.  I think that Grant and Charlotte were ready to get down and play!  No pictures please!

We lots of sweet friends and kiddos come to help us celebrate.  Total we had 16 adults and 8 kids!  It was a great time!

Charlotte got lots of pink and baby doll gifts!  She loves her new strollers and Grant does too!  Grant likes to say “my baby is fussy, i need to go push her around!” Haha!

Next, we moved onto cake, well cupcake to be exact!  Charlotte did not know what to think of the candle, she wanted to grab it!  That made for a really nervous mommy taking photos.

After the singing was over she dove right in!  Although i am not sure she liked it after the first bite, and just had more fun playing in it.  She definitely did not was to get dirty either!

 

 
Such a fun time was had by all and everyone needed a long nap afterwards!  We are so blessed to have our “baby” Charlotte and sweet friends and family to celebrate special birthdays with us!

Charlotte’s First Cracker

Yum, yum!  Charlotte fed herself her first cracker!  Actually it was a Mum-Mum cracker which is basically a really soft rice cake…but she really seemed to like it.  It kept her busy for about 20 minutes which mommy liked too!  This girl is growing up way to fast!

Singing {Running} in the rain!

We have had an enormous amount of rain in Houston this past month and our grass had benefitted very much from it.  Grant also loves to go play in the rain.  He either wants to splash in his boots or run around outside!

I love how much this little boy loves his daddy!  And how much his daddy loves him!

I love photographing my kiddos!

I’m so blessed that I have such sweet natured kids who will help their mommy try out new photography locations!

 

  Grant was surprisingly good natured during this particular time…i think it was because we let him wear his cowboy boots with his shorts!  It was cute and such a little boy thing!

Charlotte is 8 months old!

My “little Missy Lou-Hou” you are getting so big!  (Do you like your nickname?  We call you that all the time!)  You have learned so much this month:

• the newest thing is you are leaning forward into the crawling position.  You really want to start crawling but still can’t figure out how to get your legs out from under you.
• you LOVE to play peek-a-boo!  We will toss the towel over your head after bath and you love when we uncover you and say “peek-a-boo!”
• you have started clapping!  You even do it on command…yes, I cannot believe that either!  We will tell you to “clap, clap” and you do with a big smile!
• you took our first trip to the beach and to the swimming pool!  The pool was too cold for you.
• you are still waking us up for that 4am feeding!
• you are now sitting in the “big girl” car seat.  (Facing backwards of course.)  We even bought you a pretty pink paisley cover for it, because every girl needs a stylish car seat!

Thank you for all the sweet memories that we have made this month!  You are such a beautiful girl and we pray for you and treasure you!

Life at the Beach 2010

"At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun."

We were so lucky to be invited on a beach trip this past May by Grammy and Papaw.  We went to Port Aransas and stayed in a great resort.  Funny enough, Matt actually stayed at this same location during a band trip in high school.  Grant was so excited and talked about “going to the beach” consistently. 

The weather was pretty cloudy on the first day (when these below pictures were taken) but cleared up nicely for the remaining couple days that we were there.

We also spent a lot of time in the 3 different swimming pools that the resort had.  Charlotte liked to sit with her Grammy in the shade and watch all the action in the pool.

She got in the pool once with Daddy, but quickly decided that it was way to cold and wanted nothing to do with it.

But once again our little “water baby” Grant loved the pool.  I bet he jumped off the side, to our waiting arms, at least 100 times.  He slept really well each night after that jumping and swimming!

There was also lots of sandcastle building and playing in the sand.  Charlotte even brought her own chair!

Early one morning we decided to have a mini photo shoot of the kiddos on the beach…you know me, of course that was my idea.  No one was as excited as I was to partake but I ended up with a lot of sweet shots.  So I will chalk it up to…totally worth it!
