Such a silly little mister!
Splash Pad Fun
Today was a fun morning! Matt went fishing with his family so Grant and I decided to have a "Mommy and Me Saturday". Since summertime is slowly fading away we decided to make the most of it and have some fun at the Splash Pad. This was Grant's first time so I wasn't sure how he would react to the water squirting up from the ground at him. He was a trooper and actually loved getting sprayed by the water.

Since Grant has only been walking for about a week now it was pretty cute to see him walking around in these pictures and at the Splash Pad. He is getting to be such a big boy!

Give kisses.....
Grant has been really into giving everyone kisses lately. Actually he will look at us a pucker his lips like he wants to give us a kiss. It is so cute so we ooo and ahh, lean down to receive our kiss, that is when he quickly turns his head, looks at us, shakes his head no and laughs hysterically! What a little stinker! He just likes to tease us! Every once in a while he will forget to play and give a real kiss.
With all that said, here are some pictures of Grant giving "real" kisses to the bear in the entry way. After a few cute kisses, he ended up licking the bear and laughing about it.....boys! :)

Summertime Smiles
Summer afternoon - summer afternoon;
to me those have always been the two most beautiful words
in the English language.
~Henry James
What is better than playing in the backyard splashpad on a hot summer day?? Having your first cherry popsicle!! That is just what Grant got to do one hot summer afternoon. We rolled out the splash pad and he couldn't wait to get in...and yes, he did it naked! :) No need to wear a swimsuit in your own backyard! Grant also loved the cherry popsicle....at first it was a little shockingly cold to him but after a few licks he warmed up to it and ended up wanting another one!

We have a walker!!!!!
Yes, you read that right, Grant is finally walking all by himself! We are so excited! It was funny because it was just like one day he decided that he was tired of crawling and that he would start walking. He had walked in little spurts, 3 steps or so, by himself for about a month and a half before this so we knew that it would be any day now. It is like no other feeling, to see your little baby taking his first walk around the living room on his own.
How fast does the time fly...from newborn who couldn't even hold up his head to a walking toddler. We treasure every precious memory.

Good Ole' "Tomball Days"
The other day as Grant and I were driving through Tomball, on our daily Sonic Drive-In trip, we spotted a banner above Main Street that said "Tomball Days Festival". We didn't know anything about it so when we got home I looked it up online, found out it was that night and that it promised lots of "small town fun".... so we decided to check it out!

After looking at the outside of the truck we got to look inside and even talked to a real fireman! He was so nice and gave Grant his own Tomball Fireman Hat!
What little boy doesn't love firetrucks?! There were so many gadgets and nobs to touch and explore on the outside of the truck.
.
After the firetruck we decided to head over to the petting zoo. There were lots of different types of animals to touch and feed. Grant liked the turkey but he really wanted nothing to do with us.
The llama was more of our type of animal. He laid there very nicely and let Grant pet on him for a long time.
We had a great time at the festival and have decided to make this a family tradition every year!
