First "Real" Haircut!

Ever since Grant was born he has always had very little hair. It is funny because when he was born he had a full head of very blonde hair that was so pretty. After a few months all the "newborn hair" began to fall out and we had a little bald baby on our hands. Slowly but surely his hair started to grow back in and, much to our surprise, it was the same platinum blonde that it was before.

We have gotten Grant "mini" haircuts before where he would go with Matt when he got his haircut and the nice lady would trim Grant's hair for free. This time was different...we were going to have Grant's one year old pictures taken and he needed a real haircut. So we went to the Cool Cuts and waited our turn.

We played with the train while we patiently waited and when it was our turn Grant was very brave. He sat in my lap and watched a Baby Einstein video while the nice lady gently worked on his hair. He had more hair than I expected and i was a little sad while those sweet baby locks were falling in my lap. We did save them for his baby book so he can look back on that when he is older.

He looked so nice for his one year old pictures, big boy haircut and all!

Fun with Nanny and Pop!

"Grandparents are a special breed
Of kinfolk, all their own.
They love you and hug you,
And spoil you to death.
And then, they send you home."

A couple of weeks ago Grant's Nanny and Pop came over for lunch to see their little munchin. The brought him his very own lawn chair....it was even his size! He loved it immediately and sat in it for most of the time they were there. Just to get in more of the "lawn chair mood" Grant put on his sunglasses....he was ready for the outdoors!

Father's Day Thoughts......

Any man can be a father. It takes someone special to be a dad.~ Anonymous

This past Father's Day was very relaxing and laid back for the Crump Family. We got up and went to church where Grant made a picture for Matt with a poem and little Grant footprints. It was adorable and we will treasure it forever. I just want to take a moment to recognize my sweet husband and all the things that he does for our family. He is such a hard worker and goes to work every morning with the mindset that he will do everything to the best of his ability...I think that says alot about his character. He is always striving to do what is best for our family and putting us first. Even more than that he is such a wonderful father.

He is never too tired, even after a long day of work, to swoop Mister Grant up in his arms and play on the floor until bedtime. Grant adores his daddy and laughs especially hard when they play together. Grant waits all day for that game of "race to the pillow" and "peek" that he knows daddy will play with him. Matt is so patient and kind to Grant also. Every night he gives Grant a bath. It melts my heart to hear them reading the bath book together and laughing at the squirt toys.

When I was a little girl I used to pray that God would watch over my future husband whoever he was. I never imagined that I would feel this blessed by my husband and by my marriage. Thank you Matt for being my perfect partner and completely understanding me. I hate how you always make me laugh when I am mad, but I love how we can still "belly laugh" together. Thank you for being a wonderful father to Grant and your dedication to him. I love you and look forward to many more Father's Days to come.

Let's Practice!

Grant has been wanting to practice walking more and more lately. He loves to hold his daddy's hands and walk though the grass. Every night when Matt comes home from work Grant gets very excited and points to the backyard. He wants to swing and slide with his daddy. It is a special time for Matt and Grant to spend quality time together and play.

Time it sure does fly......

When Grant was born we knew how important it was to take lots of pictures and capture every moment. In those first months Grant changed so much.... from the little 7 pound cuddle-ball to our sweet ever-active one year old. On the 18th of each month we would take a picture of Grant next to his stuffed gorilla. At first, the gorilla seemed so big compared to our little Mister and just sat next to him on the couch. Eventually our growing boy surpassed the gorilla and it
no longer sat on the couch but in Grant's arms. We are so glad that we took the time to capture all the little moments to look back on in the future.

Walking by himself......

Today was a very exciting day! Grant learned to walk behind his "walking lion" all by himself! He went into his playroom and pushed the lion into the living room on his knees then stood up behind it and just started walking away! It won't be long now until we have a walker!

Ravioli + Learning to Feed Yourself =

I think that the title pretty much sums this up! What a cutie! He actually was very happy afterwards and got most of it in his mouth!
